Call for Papers
The journal Criticæ launches its third issue, which will be published in January 2024. Criticae is a annual publication that welcomes research focused on the relevance of critical thinking and its promotion in the classroom through different methodological resources.
The editorial board receives and evaluates articles, monographic proposals and reviews conceived from the Humanities and Social Sciences. Although its main focus is on Higher Education, research and educational experiences developed in Primary and Secondary Education are also welcome.
The journal accepts publications in Spanish and English.
A) Article proposals for the "Miscelánea" section
Articles must meet the following requirements:
1. Not to exceed 9.000 words (15 pages), including text, footnotes and final bibliography.
2. The title of the chapter should be indicated in bold, size 14, at the beginning of the chapter, with centred paragraph alignment.
3. Typeface: Times New Roman, size 12, except for the chapter title.
4. Spacing: single line spacing.
5. Headings: follow the instructions in the attached document “Normas de estilo de edición", which can be viewed at this link.
6. References and citations should follow the APA 7 style guide, which can be consulted here.
7. Tables and graphics, if any, will appear in the corresponding place in the text, formatted according to the APA 7 style guide.
8. The use of footnotes should be avoided, except when there is a need for clarification of the text, or to indicate the project in which the specific chapter is framed.
9. At the end there will be an unnumbered section entitled "Referenced bibliography", which will include all the bibliographical references cited in the text, also according to APA 7 format.
10. As indicated in the document "Normas de estilo", texts must be submitted in Word, never in PDF.
The file with the text of the article must not include any personal information about the author.
The following information must be attached in a separate file:
- Name and surname
- Academic degree.
- Institution of work and position held.
4. Professional contact e-mail address.
5. Summary of the proposal in Spanish and English, 150 words and between three and six key words.
6. A brief biography of the author, between 3 and 5 lines, in Spanish and English.
B) Dossier proposals
Criticæ is also open to dossier proposals, which must meet the following requirements:
1. Title or thematic line of the dossier, general introductory summary, scientific justification, brief state of the question, methodological presentation and brief summary (3-5 lines) of each of the articles that make up the dossier; in total, this general summary of the dossier must not exceed 3.000 words.
2. Title and abstract of the articles that make up the dossier, 150 words and between 3 and 6 key words, in Spanish and English.
3. As in the case of article proposals, neither the general summary nor the individual abstracts should include the authors' personal information.
4. The general summary and the individual abstracts will be sent in the same file.
5. A separate document will include the personal information (name and surname, academic rank, institution, institutional e-mail and brief biography [in Spanish and English]) of the coordinators and all the participating authors.
6. Also as in the case of article proposals, submissions will only be accepted through the journal's website.
Important:
1. Articles that do not meet these formal requirements will not be considered for evaluation.
2. Articles that include personal information of the author(s) in the body of the text will not be considered for evaluation.
3. Articles that do not include a separate document with the title, abstract and personal information required of the authors as indicated above will not be considered for evaluation.
Deadline for submissions: 31 October 2023.
ALL ARTICLES ARE SUBJECT TO BLIND PEER REVIEW.
ALL ARTICLES MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE JOURNAL'S WEBSITE; EMAIL SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
